Study of the mecanism of development of radiation-induced sarcomas

Radiotherapy for cancer is a treatment that has been developed and used for over 100 years. The effectiveness of this treatment is indisputable. However, we know that this treatment also induces senescence in cells peripheral to the targeted area, and that these cells sometimes emerge from their senescent state by an unknown mechanism, leading to the appearance of cancer.

So we're going to take a look at radio-induced sarcoma. To do this, we are going to treat cells with radiation to induce senescence, then try out different protocols to bring them out of this state. We will then observe the behavior of the cells in order to recover the expected cancerous phenotype.
